A two-dimensional model for linear elastic thick shells is derived from the three-dimensional equations. From different scalings for tangent and normal components of the displacement, the limit displacement appears to be a Kirchhoff-Love displacement with terms additional to those found in the Reissner-Mindlin model, and satisfies more general equations containing the classical terms found in the literature, and some new terms related to the third fundamental form.
