A simple dynamical system generated by means $M$ and $N$ on adjacent intervals is used to extend the means of $M$ and $N$, respectively. Among the joints obtained are those semiconjugating some functions defined by the use of the so-called marginal functions of $M$ and $N$. The obtained results improve on the recent procedure of joining presented by the author and \textit{W. Jarczyk} [Publ. Math. 91, No. 1--2, 235--246 (2017; Zbl 1399.26084)].
