The author proves a \(C^{2,1}\)-regularity result for the solution \((n,c,u)\) of the chemotaxis-Stokes problem written as \(n_{t}+u\cdot \nabla n=\Delta n-\nabla \cdot (\frac{n}{c}\nabla c)\), \(c_{t}+u\cdot \nabla c=\Delta c-nc\), \( u_{t}+\nabla P=\Delta u+n\nabla \phi \), \(\nabla \cdot u=0\) and posed in \( \Omega \times (0,\infty )\) where \(\Omega \) is a bounded and smooth domain of \(\mathbb{R}^{2}\) and \(\phi \in C^{2}(\overline{\Omega })\).\ The initial conditions \(n(x,0)=n_{0}\in C^{0}(\overline{\Omega })\), \(c(x,0)=c_{0}\in W^{1,\infty }(\Omega )\), \(u(x,0)=u_{0}\in D(A_{r}^{\alpha })\), with \(r\in (1,\infty )\) and \(\alpha \in (1/2,1)\), \(A_{r}\) being the Stokes operator, are imposed together with the boundary conditions \(\frac{\partial n}{ \partial \nu }=\frac{\partial n}{\partial \nu }=u=0\) on \(\partial \Omega \times (0,\infty )\). The author quotes from the paper by \textit{Y. Wang} in [Bound. Value Probl. 2016, Paper No. 177, 24 p. (2016; Zbl 1408.35131)] the existence of at least one generalized solution to this problem. The main result of the paper proves that if \(n_{0}\), which is nonnegative and non-identically equal to 0, satisfies \(\int_{\Omega }n_{0}\leq m_{\star }\) for some \(m_{\star }\) then the generalized solution \((n,c,u)\) is \(C^{2,1}\) on \(\overline{\Omega }\times [ T,\infty )\) for some \(T>0\). Moreover the author describes the behavior of this solution when \(t\) tends to \(\infty \). Finally the author proves that under stronger hypotheses on the data \( n_{0}\) and \(u_{0}\) the generalized solution is a classical one. For the proof of the regularity result, the author essentially proves energy estimates. To prove the classical character of the generalized solution, the author proves energy estimates and he uses approximate solutions.
