Dual linear extensions of generalized quadrangles are geometries \(\Gamma\) of rank 3 whose varieties are called points, lines and quads, respectively. The point residues are linear spaces, the line residues are generalized digons, and the quad residues are generalized quadrangles. The author obtains diameter bounds for the collinearity graph of \(\Gamma\). Further, he studies the influence of additional axioms on the structure of \(\Gamma\) and surveys the known examples.
