    Summary: We present new results on the existence and uniqueness of tripled fixed points for nonlinear mappings in partially ordered complete metric spaces that extend the results in the previous works [the first and the third author, Nonlinear Anal., Theory Methods Appl., Ser. A, Theory Methods 74, No. 15, 4889--4897 (2011; Zbl 1225.54014); Appl. Math. Comput. 218, No. 10, 5929--5936 (2012; Zbl 1262.54017); the first author, Appl. Math. Comput. 218, No. 14, 7339--7346 (2012; Zbl 1244.54086)]. An example and an application to support our new results are also included in the paper.
