This paper aims at making a contribution towards a better understanding of the geometry of (generic) \(3\)-dimensional conformally flat hypersurfaces, in particular their transformation theory. The main topic discussed here is that of Guichard duality. Various results of this important work and in particular, the duality of conformally flat hypersurfaces and the intrinsic duality of conformally flat Riemannian manifolds, do not depend on the ambient signature or the signature of the induced metric; thus they will carry over to space-like or Lorentzian conformally flat hypersurfaces in signature spaces.
