\textit{R. Carter} and \textit{T. Hawkes}' introduction of normalisers of a finite soluble group associated to a saturated formation [J. Algebra 5, 175-202 (1967; Zbl 0167.29201)] was the starting point of a research line in the Theory of Classes of Finite Soluble Groups which consists in the study of some subgroup embedding properties associated to a saturated formation which extend some classical ones. One of the most interesting extension is the \(\mathcal F\)-subnormality, \(\mathcal F\) a saturated formation, introduced by \textit{T. Hawkes} [J. Lond. Math. Soc. 44, 243-250 (1969; Zbl 0174.31001)]. This property has been studied in a paper by \textit{K. Doerk, M. D. Pérez-Ramos} and the reviewer [J. Algebra 148, No. 1, 42-52 (1992; Zbl 0790.20036)]. In this paper, the authors studied and characterised the subgroup-closed saturated formations for which the set of \(\mathcal F\)-subnormal subgroups is a sublattice of the subgroup lattice of a finite soluble group. These formations are usually called lattice-formations. In another paper, the same authors [\textit{A. Ballester-Bolinches, K. Doerk} and \textit{M. D. Pérez-Ramos}, J. Algebra 171, No. 1, 189-203 (1995; Zbl 0824.20015)] studied a possible extension of normality within the framework of formation theory. The \(\mathcal F\)-normal subgroups relate to \(\mathcal F\)-subnormal ones in the natural way and when the formation is the nilpotent one, normality is just \(\mathcal F\)-normality. Despite of the good behaviour of the \(\mathcal F\)-normal subgroups, they fail to satisfy a natural property of normality which is the persistence in direct products. In the paper under review the authors introduce and study an alternative definition of \(\mathcal F\)-normality due to Doerk. This new subgroup embedding property, called \(\mathcal F\)-Dnormality, behaves well in direct products and also relates to \(\mathcal F\)-subnormality in the natural way. Moreover, in the same line than previous results on \(\mathcal F\)-subnormality and \(\mathcal F\)-normality, the authors characterise in the paper the subgroup-closed saturated formations for which the \(\mathcal F\)-Dnormal subgroups are a sublattice of the subgroup lattice in every finite soluble group. They are exactly the lattice formations.
