The author deals with Jacobi forms \(\Phi\) in the sense of Eichler-Zagier. He studies the standard \(L\)-function of a Hecke-Jacobi cusp form using the Rankin-Selberg doubling method. At first it is shown that every analytic Klingen-Jacobi Eisenstein series associated with \(\Phi\) possesses a meromorphic continuation to the whole complex plane. If the weight \(k\) satisfies \(k > 4\), \(k \equiv 0\bmod 4\) every Hecke-Jacobi cusp eigenform can explicitly be expressed as a linear combination of theta series. This yields a solution of the basis problem of Jacobi forms of square-free index.
