Given Banach spaces \(X\) and \(Y\), a convex subset \(\Omega\subseteq X\), and a Fréchet differentiable nonlinear operator \(F: \Omega\to Y\), the authors consider the iterative system \[ \begin{aligned} y_k &= x_k-\lambda F'(x_k)^{-1} F(x_k),\\ z_k &= y_k-\lambda F'(x_k)^{-1} F(y_k),\\ x_{k+1} &= z_k-\lambda F'(x_k)^{-1} F(z_k),\end{aligned} \] where \(\lambda\in\mathbb{R}\setminus\{0\}\), for solving the equation \(F(x)= 0\) in \(\Omega\). In contrast to previous work in the field, higher differentiability of \(F\) is not required. The abstract semilocal convergence analysis is illustrated by applications to Hammerstein integral equations arising in chemistry, electromagnetic fluid dynamics, and the kinetic theory of gases. | |||
