The authors consider supertropical vector spaces over supertropical semifields, relying, as far as possible, on structure theory. The major difference with respect to standard linear algebra is that in this setting any maximal independent set is not necessarily a minimal spanning set. The authors consider two kinds of bases, one defined by means of independence and the other one defined by means of spanning. Several considerations on these two notions of basis are pushed forward. Among the topics considered are: orthogonality, bilinear forms, non-degeneracy. | |||
