The first part of the article is devoted to the construction of a frame of Gaussian functions which will represent elements of \(L^2(\mathbb R^n)\). Based on results in this section , the Gaussian beams are constructed and their space-time propagation is shown. One proves that the propagated frame operators are bounded in the appropriate \(l\) sequence spaces. For the construction of a parametrix for the wave equation with \(C^{1,1}\) coefficients , the author inspires himself from the article of \textit{H. F. Smith} [Ann. Inst. Fourier 48, No. 3, 797--835 (1998; Zbl 0974.35068)].
