For a continuum \(X\), let \(2^X\) be the family of all non-empty closed subsets of \(X\), \(C(X)\subseteq 2^X\) the family of all subcontinua of \(X\) and \(F_n(X)\subseteq 2^X\) the family of all nonempty closed subsets of \(X\) with at most \(n\) points. Next, \(\mathcal H(X)\) is used to denote any element of the family \(\{2^X, C(X), F_n(X)\}\). Let \(X\) and \(Y\) be any continua and \(f:X\rightarrow Y\) a mapping. Then the induced mapping \(\mathcal{H}(f):\mathcal H(X)\rightarrow \mathcal H(Y)\) is defined by \(\mathcal{H}(f)(A)=f(A)\). If \(1\leq m<n\), then \(SF_{m}^{n}(X)=F_n(X)/F_m(X)\) and \(SF_{m}^{n}(f)\) denotes the natural induced mapping from \(SF_{m}^{n}(X)\) to \(SF_{m}^{n}(Y)\). In the paper, certain relationships between the mappings \(f:X\rightarrow Y\), \(2^f:2^X\rightarrow 2^Y\), \(C(f):C(X)\rightarrow C(Y)\), \(F_n(f):F_n(X)\rightarrow F_n(Y)\) and \(SF_{m}^{n}(f):SF_{m}^{n}(X)\rightarrow SF_{m}^{n}(Y)\) are studied for atomic, confluent, light monotone, open, OM, weakly confluent, and hereditarily weakly confluent mappings. | |||
