The authors modify the functional topology theory due to \textit{M. M. Clementino} et al. [in: Categorical foundations. Special topics in order, topology, algebra, and sheaf theory. Cambridge: Cambridge University Press. 103--163 (2004; Zbl 1059.54012)] in order to apply it to the category \(\mathrm{Sch}\) of schemes. Additionally they show how the original functional topology theory can be applied to the presheaf category over \(\mathrm{Sch}\).
