In this paper the authors add an important contribution to the study of representation type of almost completely decomposable groups. In the main results of the paper it is proved that there are exactly nine near-isomorphism types of indecomposable almost completely decomposable groups with a critical typeset of type \((1,3)\) and a homocyclic regulator quotient of exponent \(p^4\) and these are of rank \(\leq 6\) (Section 5), and the class of almost completely decomposable groups with a critical typeset of type \((1,3)\) and a homocyclic regulator quotient of exponent \(p^4\) is of bounded representation type (Theorem 7).
