The author mainly focuses on two logics of justified belief to which he refers as J and J4. The logical syntax of J4 includes the operation of positive introspection while that of J does not. The author shows, syntactically and semantically, that for every proof in J4 of a wff in which there is no occurrence of the operator in question, there is a corresponding proof in J. In addition, there are some remarks in the paper on whether similar results can or cannot be obtained for other logics of justified belief.
