\textit{B. Totaro} [Proc. Symp. Pure Math. 67, 249--281 (1999; Zbl 0967.14005)] defined the Chow ring of a classifying space as the limit of Chow rings of finite-dimensional algebraic varieties approximating the classifying space. In this paper, the author computes the Chow ring of the classifying space \(\mathrm{BSO}(2n,\mathbb{C})\), and show that it is isomorphic to \(\mathbb{Z}[c_2,\cdots,c_{2n},y_n]/(2c_{\mathrm{odd}},y_nc_{\mathrm{odd}},y_n^2+(-1)^n2^{2n-2}c_{2n})\). For this proof he uses the fibration \(\mathrm{GL}(2n)/\mathrm{SO}(2n)\rightarrow \mathrm{BSO}(2n)\rightarrow \mathrm{BGL}(2n)\) and a computation of the Chow ring of the symmetric space \(\mathrm{GL}(2n)/\mathrm{SO}(2n)\) in his previous paper [J.
