The classical concepts of Minkowski sums and differences are extended by allowing the underlying objects to belong to a non-commutative group. The new operators obtained in this way are proven to be useful for unifying various problems arising with respect to translational and rotational configuration space, symmetry detection, and other areas, and for solving these problems.
