The paper analyzes the nonlinear light propagation through a one-dimensional nonlinear photonic crystal with a defect. Starting from the system of Maxwell's equations and using the WKB approximation for the description of emitted radiation, the paper presents a rigorous derivation of the soliton solution with the radiation correction to it in the form of the third-hamonic wave.
