The author studies, in full details, multiple structures on a codimension two linear subspace in a projective space. He shows that these structures correspond to smooth points in their Hilbert scheme. As the monomial structures correspond to Young diagrams, the simple operation of adding two Young diagrams and an operation (non-commutative) of associating a 3-Young diagram to two usual Young diagrams are naturally interpreted in the frame of monomial ideals.
