\textit{J. Hamhalter} proved in [Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 110, No. 3, 803--806 (1990; Zbl 0743.46063)] that if \(m\) is a measure on projections in a \(W^*\)-algebra \(A\) without a type \(I_2\) direct summand, then there exists an \(H\)-valued (\(H\) is a complex Hilbert space) orthogonal vector measure \(\mu\) on projections in \(A\) such that \(\|\mu(p)\|^2 = m(p)\) for every projection \(p\) in \(A\). In the present paper, the author proves this assertion for \(W^*\)-algebras of type \(I_2\) and, therefore, for arbitrary \(W^*\)-algebras.
