This paper deals with the Lame-Emden problem: \[ \begin{cases} -\Delta u=u^p\quad\text{in}\;\,\Omega;\\ u>0\quad\text{in}\;\,\Omega,\\ u=0\quad\text{on}\;\,\partial\Omega. \end{cases}\tag{1} \] Here \(\Omega\) is a smooth bounded domain in \(\mathbb{R}^2\) and \(p>1\). The authors provide a complete description of the asymptotic behavior, as \(p\to+\infty\), of the positive solutions of (1) under a uniform bound of the energy: \[ p\int_{\Omega}|\nabla u_p|^2dx\to \beta\in\mathbb{R},\quad\text{as }p\to+\infty. \] In particular, they prove that all concentration points of the positive solutions to (1) are simple in the sense that there is not more than one concentrating sequence of points converging at the same point. This completes the study of their previous work [J. Eur. Math. Soc. (JEMS) 17, No. 8, 2037--2068 (2015; Zbl 1329.35155)].
