Let \(F\) be a function of bounded variation on \([0, 2\pi]\). Denote by \(S_n(dF, x)\) the partial sums of the Fourier-Stieltjes series \(\sum_{k\in {\mathbb Z}}\widehat{dF}(k)e^{ikx}\) of \(F\). A classical result of Fejér is that for every \(x\in (0,\pi)\) \[ \lim_{n\to\infty}{1\over n}S_n(dF,x)={1\over\pi}(F(x+)-F(x-)). \] The author extends this result to the case of Cesàro means \[ \sigma^\alpha_n(dF,x):={1\over A^\alpha_n}\sum_{k=0}^nA^{\alpha-1}_{n-k}S_k(dF,x) \] and the case of Abel-Poisson means \[ dF(r,x):=\sum_{k\in {\mathbb Z}}\widehat{dF}(k)e^{ikx}r^{| k| }. \] He proves that when \(\alpha>-1\) \[ \lim_{n\to\infty}{\alpha+1\over n}\sigma^\alpha_n(dF,x)={1\over\pi}(F(x+)-F(x-)). \] He also proves \[ \lim_{r\to 1-}(1-r)dF(r,x)={1\over\pi}(F(x+)-F(x-)). \]
