A new weighted bivariate blending rational spline interpolation based on function values is investigated. This spline interpolation has the following advantages: it can modify the shape of the interpolation surface by changing the parameters under the condition that the values of the interpolating nodes are fixed; the interpolation function is \(C^1\)-continuous for any positive parameters; the interpolation function has a simple and explicit mathematical representation; the interpolating function only depends on the value of the function being interpolated. Numerical examples illustrated the suggested method of interpolation.
