Let \({\mathbb B}\) denote the unit ball in \({\mathbb C}^n\) with boundary \(\partial{\mathbb B}\). Theorem. If \(f\) is a real analytic function on \(\partial{\mathbb B}\) and there is a point \(z_0\in\partial{\mathbb B}\) such that for each complex line through \(z_0\), \(f\) extends to a holomorphic function on that line, then \(f\) extends holomorphically to \({\mathbb B}\). The short proof uses only classical methods of complex analysis. This article cites a preprint by the same author [``Holomorphic extension from a convex hypersurface'', Preprint (2009), \url{arXiv:0911.1521}], which considers a more general result for convex domains and analytic discs, using less elementary methods.
