A left and right Artinian ring R is called serial if both Re and eR have a unique composition series for any primitive idempotent \(e\in R\). The author obtains a necessary and sufficient condition for two serial rings to be Morita equivalent and a sufficient condition under which a serial ring has a self-duality. The last result generalizes the work of \textit{J. K. Haack} [J. Algebra 59, 345-363 (1979; Zbl 0444.16012)]. The proofs will be given elsewhere.
