The paper illustrates a generalization of a classical invariant in algebraic topology: the Lefschetz number. For each endomorphism \(f:X\to X\) of a finite proper \(G\)-CW-complex \(X\), where \(G\) is a discrete group, the author introduces an element \(u_G^R(X, f)\) in \(U_G^R(X, f)\), which is the \(K_0\) of the category of ``\(\phi\)-endomorphisms of finitely generated free \(R \Pi(G,X)\)-modules'', where \(R\) is a commutative ring, \(\Pi(G,X)\) is the fundamental category, and \(\phi\colon \Pi(G,X) \to \Pi(G,X)\) is the endofunctor induced by \(f\). By using this invariant \((U_G^R(X, f), u_G^R(X, f))\), the author obtains a refinement of an existing orbifold Lefschetz fixed point theorem.
