\textit{R. J. Aumann} and \textit{L. S. Shapley} [``Values of non-atomic games'' (1974; Zbl 0311.90084)] built a mathematical theory with explicit application to games with a ``continuum'' of players, called non-atomic games, with the underlying space assumed to be a measurable space isomorphic to \(([0,1],B)\), where \(B\) is the class of Borel sets, and \(BV\) the Banach space of set functions of bounded variation, under the variation norm. A value is an operator from real-valued set functions on a \(\sigma\)-field (a family of coalitions) to additive set functions, satisfying certain plausibility conditions. \(L\) is a \(\sigma\)-complete D-lattice and \(BV\) the space of all real-valued functions on \(L\) of bounded variation and with value zero on \(\emptyset\). The authors prove the existence of a continuous Aumann-Shapley operator \(\varphi\) on the closed subspace of \(BV\) generated by powers of nonatomic \(\sigma\)-additive positive modular measures on \(L\). The integral representation of \(\varphi\) on the class of functions corresponding to measure games is also given. This setting is applicable to cooperative games with fuzzy coalitions and in a quantum mechanics system.
