A method is proposed to rank (in voting systems) multiple efficient candidates by comparing the least relative total scores for each efficient candidate with the best and the least relative total scores measured in the same range. The proposed method is related to the data envelopment analysis (DEA) proposed by \textit{W. D. Cook} and \textit{M. Kress} [Manage. Sci. 36, No. 11, 1302--1310 (1990; Zbl 0727.90005)] and deals with the problem of discriminating among efficient candidates.
