The authors study the equation \[ u_t+uu_x-\mu u_{xx}-\delta u_{xxt}=0, \] which is a combination of the Burgers and the Benjamin-Bona-Mahony equation. They give a qualitative description of a planar autonomous system corresponding to a traveling wave solution and analyze its dependence on parameter \(\mu\). Approximations of solitary waves are obtained.
