Let G be a finite extra-special p-group. The mod p cohomology algebra of G was determined by Quillen for \(p=2\). It eventually led to the development of Quillen's K-theory. The present work concentrates on \(p>2\) and determines the image under the restriction map from G to its maximal elementary abelian subgroups A - up to isomorphism of G, there is just one such A and just two such G with the same order. The present case is complicated because the exterior algebra part is not commutative and leads to nilpotent elements.
