The main theorem (0.1) contains a characterization of \({\mathbb{P}}^ 3\) and a hyperquadric \({\mathbb{Q}}^ 3\subset {\mathbb{P}}^ 4\) among compact complex threefolds and among nonsingular algebraic threefolds over the field of arbitrary characteristic in purely algebraic terms. In the complex case this leads to some algebraic-topological characterizations of \({\mathbb{P}}^ 3\) and \({\mathbb{Q}}^ 3\) (theorems (0.2) and (0.3)), which partially generalize the known ones, due to Hirzebruch-Kodaira, Yau, Brieskorn [see, for example, the survey by \textit{S. Kobayashi} in Jahresber. Dtsch. Math.-Ver. 83, 147-158 (1981; Zbl 0467.53030)] to the non-Kählerian situation. There is settled the non-Kählerian rigidity theorem (0.4) for \({\mathbb{P}}^ 3_{{\mathbb{C}}}\) and \({\mathbb{Q}}^ 3_{{\mathbb{C}}}\). The author notes that these consequences were obtained in a stronger form independently by \textit{T. Peternell} [Manuscr. Math. 50, 397-428 (1985; Zbl 0573.32027); Math. Ann. 274, 133-156 (1986; Zbl 0594.14032)]. There are given the sketches of the proofs.
