Employing the iteration technique formerly used by N. D. Alikakos, the author proves the local existence of the mixed problem for semilinear parabolic equations with linear boundary condition of the third type. The treated class of equations covers most of the recently studied single equations with blowing-up solutions. A seemingly new estimate for the life time of the solutions depending on the size of the initial data is given.
