The book addresses the problem of robust stabilization. The author starts with a definition of the notion of stability. The parametrization of all stabilizing compensators is given. Then the notion of the gap-metric is introduced and used to measure the distance between two plants. The next step is a derivation of sufficient conditions for robust stabilization. A method is derived to obtain an optimally robust compensator. The last three chapters of the book are devoted to algorithms for the computation of optimal solutions. Several appendices contain Matlab problems for computation, gap distances, Bezout factorizations, Hankel norms etc. The book is well-written and will be of an interest for the researches in the area of robust stabilization.
