The classical Shepard interpolation operator has degree of exactness zero. Some Shepard-type operators of degree of exactness greater than zero were constructed by using bivariate Taylor, Laguerre or Hermite interpolation operators. In this paper such a Shepard-type operator is constructed by using bivariate Birkhoff interpolation operators.
