The dominant behaviour in a semiclassical parameter of the cross section for elastic scattering is determined. The model is a Schrödinger operator given by a perturbation of the semiclassical Laplacian by short- range potentials of \(N\)-body type where \(N \geq 3\). This article completes the discussion in [\textit{H. T. Ito}, \textit{H. Tamura}, ibid. 32, 533-555 (1992; Zbl 0769.35045)] and shows that the elastic cross section dominates the inelastic ones in the semiclassical regime.
