The \(r\)-order Bessel operator \(B_r\), defined on \((0,\infty)\) by \[ B_ru(x)=u^{(r)}(x)+{a_1\over x}u^{(r-1)}(x)+\cdots+ {a_{r-1}\over x^{r-1}}u^{(1)}(x), \] studied earlier by \textit{M. I. Klyuchantsev} [Sib. Math. J. 24, 353-366, (1984); translation from Sib. Mat. Zh. 24, No. 3(139), 47-62 (1983; Zbl 0525.33004)] is considered. The higher-order Bessel heat polynomials \(v_{r,n}(x,t)\) (\(n\) is the degree with respect to \(t\)) are constructed, and convergence of the series \(\sum_{n\geq0}\alpha_nv_{r,n}(x,t)\), depending on the properties of the sequence \(\{\alpha_n\}_{n\geq0}\), is established. Basing on these results, analytic solutions to the Cauchy problem for the heat equation \(u_t(x,t)=B_ru(x,t)\), related to the \(r\)-order Bessel operator \(B_r\), are investigated.
