Atomic decompositions in function spaces attracted a lot of attention in the last two decades. The paper contributes to this subject by proving atomic characterizations of the spaces \(C^{\alpha, k}_p(D)\) introduced by DeVore and Sharpley. Here, \(D\) is an arbitrary domain in \(\mathbb{R}^n\) (no smoothness assumptions). The spaces \(C^{\alpha,k}_p\) cover some Sobolev spaces, Hölder-Zygmund spaces, and the spaces \(F^\alpha_{p\infty}\).
