\(U_q(\widehat{\mathfrak{gl}}_N)\) action on \(\widehat{\mathfrak{gl}}_N\)-modules and quantum toroidal algebras. (Q1427393): Difference between revisions

In the theory of (quantum) affine Lie algebras and (quantum) toroidal algebras the vertex operator constructions have played an important role. In the paper under review the authors study the quantum toroidal algebra \(U_q({\mathfrak{sl}}_{N,\text{tor}})\) [cf. \textit{V. Ginzburg, M. Kapranov} and \textit{E. Vasserot}, Math. Res. Lett. 2, 147--160 (1995; Zbl 0914.11040)] and give a new vertex operator realization of certain irreducible \(U_q({\mathfrak{sl}}_{N,tor})\)-modules. The authors consider the basic module \(V_Q\) for the affine Lie algebra \(\widehat{\mathfrak{gl}}_N\) and show that \(V_Q\) allows an irreducible \(U_q({\mathfrak{sl}}_{N, \text{tor}})\)-action. Furthermore, they also prove that \(V_Q\) is an irreducible module for the quantum affine Lie algebra \(U_q(\widehat{\mathfrak{gl}}_N)\) and each weight space as both \(U_q(\widehat{\mathfrak{gl}}_N)\)-module and \(\widehat{\mathfrak{gl}}_N\)-module coincides.
