The authors consider corotational wave maps from (1+d)-dimensional Minkowski space. For each dimension \(d\geq 8\), a negatively curved, \(d\)-dimensional target manifold is constructed so that it allows the existence of a self-similar wave map which blows up at some \(T>0\). Moreover, the authors expected that the corresponding self-similar blowup is nonlinearly asymptotically stable under small perturbations of the initial data, which is verified for the particular case \(d=9\) in this paper.
