    The paper introduces the notion of topological \(r\)-entropy for a free semigroup action. A link between the topological \(r\)-entropy and the topological entropy of a continuous map of a compact metric space \((X, d)\) is presented. Let \(f_0,\dots, f_{m-1}\) be homeomorphisms on a compact metric space \((X, d)\) to itself. Let \(h(f_0, f_1, \dots, f_{m-1})\) be the topological entropy of \(f_0, f_1, \dots, f_{m-1}\) and let \(h_r(f_0, f_1, \dots, f_{m-1})\) represent the topological \(r\)-entropy of \(f_0, f_1, \dots, f_{m-1}\). In this case, the authors prove that \[ \lim_{r\rightarrow 0}h_r(f_0, f_1, \dots, f_{m-1})=h(f_0, f_1, \dots, f_{m-1}) \] and \[ h(f_0, f_1, \dots, f_{m-1})=h(f_0^{-1}, f_1^{-1}, \dots, f_{m-1}^{-1}). \] Then, they prove that the topological \(r\)-entropy of free semigroup actions is a conjugacy invariant. A problem given by \textit{Y. Wang} et al. [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 435, No. 2, 1573--1590 (2016; Zbl 1373.37047)] is solved.
