The author study some older papers concerning Lie groups and their embedding into a spinorial group. In the first part of the paper, there are three false claims taken from [\textit{C. Doran} et al., J. Math. Phys. 34, No. 8, 3642--3669 (1993; Zbl 0810.15014)]). The author discusses in detail why these claims are not correct. He also states that when the article was published the involved factoring problem was probably already solved by \textit{H. Bass} [Am. J. Math. 96, 156--206 (1974; Zbl 0344.15017)].
