Some properties, mainly \(K\)-theoretical, of the Roe C\(^*\)-algebra are studied in this carefully written paper. In particular, the map from the \(K\)-theory of the group C\(^*\)-algebra of \(\mathbb Z^d\) to the \(K\)-theory of the Roe C\(^*\)-algebra is described, both for real and complex \(K\)-theory. The Roe C\(^*\)-algebra is also discussed as a model for topological phases of disordered materials.
