This paper presents results on the parameter regularity of determinants of expanding maps of the circle, more precisely, uniformly expanding maps of the circle. Let \(\tau \rightarrow T_r\) be a curve, defined on \((-\epsilon, \epsilon)\) of \(C^r\) (\(r \geq 2\)) expanding circle maps. This means that for every \(\tau \in (-\epsilon, \epsilon)\) and \(x \in \mathbb{S}^1\), \(|T'_r(x)|>1.\) For every \(\tau\), \(T_{\tau}\) admits a unique invariant probability measure \(\mu_r\) which is absolutely continuous with respect to the Lebesgue measure. A convenient tool to study \(\mu_r\) is the transfer operator defined by \[ \mathcal{L}_r (\varphi )(x) =\sum_{T_r(y)=x} \frac{1}{|T'_r(y)|} \varphi(y),\] with \(x \in \mathbb{S}^1\) and \(\varphi:\mathbb{S}^1 \rightarrow \mathbb{C}.\) This paper has eight sections. In Section 2, the author sets notation to be used throughout the entire paper, reviews facts on Sobolev spaces, and recalls the Paley-Littlewood decomposition. In Section 3, the Paley-Littlewood decomposition is used to derive a local version of the decomposition of the transfer operator defined above. In Section 4, the author introduces an auxiliary operator closely related to the transfer operator and used to provide the decomposition of the transfer operator. In Section 5, the author defines a ``flat trace'' and a ``flat determinant'' for some operators and proves their main properties. In Section 6, the author proves some results of regularities of the eigenelements of the transfer operator, using a method due to \textit{S. Gouëzel} and \textit{C. Liverani} [Ergodic Theory Dyn. Syst. 26, No. 1, 189--217 (2006; Zbl 1088.37010)]. In Section 7, the author states and proves the main result (Theorem 7.1). In Section 8, the main theorem is used to derive other results and to compute approximate values for the linear response. The author also conjectures that the method presented in this paper can be adapted to the case of differentiable expanding maps in higher dimensions and to Anosov diffeomorphisms.
