Kauffman defined the \(f\)-polynomial which is an invariant for oriented virtual link diagrams [see \textit{L. H. Kauffman}, Eur. J. Comb. 20, No.~7, 663--690 (1999; Zbl 0938.57006)]. In the paper under discussion the author introduces a relation between the \(f\)-polynomials of a virtual skein triple. As an application the \(f\)-polynomials of certain virtual link diagrams are calculated without changing the number of components.
