The stability concepts for the functional differential equations with infinite delay depend on the metrics of the phase spaces where the right- hand sides of the equations are defined. The paper clarifies the relationship between certain metrics and gives a unified aspect on the stability concepts by allowing more flexibility in the choice of the phase space. Consequences for the Lyapunov second method are formulated, too. The very nice theory contains some earlier results as corollaries.
