As the author summarizes: ``We will prove that two \(L\)-functions \(L_1\),\(L_2\) satisfying the same functional equation must be identically equal if sufficiently many zeros of \(L_1\) are also zeros of \(L_2\).'' In fact, the author starts from Nevanlinna theory results for meromorphic functions and quotes, then, a recent result of Steuding about \(L\)-functions [\textit{J. Steuding}, Value distribution of \(L\)-functions. Lecture Notes in Mathematics 1877. Berlin: Springer (2007; Zbl 1130.11044)]. Here, we mean \(L\)-function (as usual) in a vague sense, but he means functions from the celebrated Selberg class (he quotes \textit{A. Selberg}'s original 1989 paper, in [Proceedings of the Amalfi conference on analytic number theory, held at Maiori, Amalfi, Italy, from 25 to 29 September, 1989. Salerno: Universitá di Salerno, 367--385 (1992; Zbl 0787.11037)]), eventually without the Euler product axiom (compare the work of \textit{J. Kaczorowski} and \textit{A. Perelli} [Acta Math. 182, No. 2, 207--241 (1999; Zbl 1126.11336)] quoted in the paper). The problem of distinct zeros of \(L\)-functions can be traced back to the Bombieri-Perelli paper he quotes [\textit{E. Bombieri} and \textit{A. Perelli}, Acta Arith. 83, No. 3, 271--281 (1998; Zbl 0891.11044)], but we feel that he should have to quote the other Bombieri-Perelli ``Zeros and poles of Dirichlet series'', too see [\textit{E. Bombieri} and \textit{A. Perelli}, Atti Accad. Naz. Lincei, Cl. Sci. Fis. Mat. Nat., IX. Ser., Rend. Lincei, Mat. Appl. 12, No. 2, 69--73 (2001; Zbl 1170.11320). His previous paper on the subject see [Adv. Math. 226, No. 5, 4198--4211 (2011; Zbl 1221.11192)] has the Carlson result that he needs here, to conclude that a certain entire function vanishes identically, constituting the main bulk of his method. Then, apart from a technical, so to speak, condition on the zeros (for which, compare both Bombieri-Perelli's papers, quoted), He applies the (Riemann-von Mangoldt type) count for the zeros of \(L\)-functions in rectangular regions.
