The Virasoro algebra plays an important role in mathematical physics and differential geometry. In this paper the author studies the class of Lie superalgebras generalizing the Virasoro algebra by considering extensions of the Virasoro algebra by the modules of tensor densities on \(S^1\). He shows that most of these Lie algebras have interesting superanalogues, classifies such Lie algebras, and obtains a series of Lie superalgebras generalizing the Neveu-Schwarz superalgebra.
