    This paper deals with the Riemann problem for the following two-dimensional traffic model \[ \left\{\!\!\!\!\!\!\!\! \begin{array}{ll} &\rho_t + (\rho u)_x + (\rho v)_y = 0,\\ &(\rho(u+ p_1(\rho))_t + (\rho(u+ p_1(\rho))u)_x + (\rho(u+ p_1(\rho))v)_y =0, \\ &(\rho(v + p_2(\rho))_t + (\rho(v + p_2(\rho))u)_x + (\rho(v+ p_2(\rho))v)_y = 0, \end{array} \right. \] where \(\rho\) is also the density, \(u\) and \(v\) are the velocities in \(x\) and \(y\) directions, \(p_1(\rho)\) and \(p_2(\rho)\) are the Chaplygin traffic pressures \[ p_1(\rho)=-\frac{A_1}{\rho},\quad p_2(\rho)=-\frac{A_2}{\rho}, \] for some constants \(A_1,\,A_2>0\).
