Approximate solution of a generalized multi-quadratic type functional equation in Lipschitz spaces (Q2102125): Difference between revisions

Let \(G\) be an abelian group and \(k, l\) be two fixed integers with \(k\neq \pm l\). The author constructs the general solution of the generalized multi-quadratic type functional equation \begin{multline*} f (x_1 , \dots , x_{i-1} , x_i + ky_i , x_{i+1} , \dots, x_n )+ f (x_1 , \dots , x_{i-1} , x_i - ky_i , x_{i+1} , \dots , x_n ) \\ = f (x_1 , \dots , x_{i-1} , x_i + ly_i , x_{i+1} , \dots, x_n )+ f (x_1 , \dots , x_{i-1} , x_i - ly_i , x_{i+1} , \dots , x_n ) \\ + 2(k^2- l^2 )f (x_1, \dots, x_{i-1}, y_i , x_{i+1}, \dots, x_n ), \end{multline*} with \(x_i , y_i \in G,\ i \in \{1, \dots, n\}.\) \textit{M. Dashti} and \textit{H. Khodaei} [Result. Math. 74, No. 4, Paper No. 163, 13 p. (2019; Zbl 1420.39018)] studied the stability of the above functional equation for \(l=1\). Under some Lipschitz conditions, the author improves known results about the stability of the above equation.
