The subject considered in the paper is the fifth member of the hierarchy of integrable equations of the Kadomtsev-Petviashvili type (a.k.a. the KP5 equation), with the temporal variable and two coordinates. The Lax pairs and the bilinear form for this equation are used to produce multi-soliton solutions. In particular, exact bound-state solutions are identified, in the form of ``soliton molecules'' (quasi-one-dimensional solitons being meant), ``breather molecules'', and breather-soliton bound states. Finally, interactions between the bound states are addressed too.
